If you’ve been in business for any amount of time, you have probably had the right clients that are dreams to work with, but you may have also had a few nightmare clients.
You and I know that building relationships with potential clients is essential, but how do we determine which ones are our right clients?
To learn how to attract the right clients to your God-centered business, you need to show up authentically and uniquely. Ask yourself if you are showing up uniquely enough right now and be honest with yourself.

Your responsibility is to get in front of your God-chosen right clients and build the “know, like and trust” factor with them. To do this, it’s essential also to realize and accept that you will not resonate with everyone, and that’s okay! However, when your ideal right client hears your message, they will be attracted to you and want to know who you are and what you are offering.
Again, ask yourself if you are showing up authentically online, so my ideal and the right clients hear me? Be honest with yourself because you will attract the wrong clients if you aren’t showing up as yourself.
How to Attract the Right Clients to Your God-Centered Business
Let’s start with how you are showing up authentically online. One way to show up authentically is with valuable content.
How to Create Valuable Content
Center your valuable content around the problem you and your business solve and provide value. Valuable content,
- Informs your ideal clients about you – the expert.
- Inspires your ideal clients to think, “me too” or “I needed this!”
- Connects your ideal clients to you because you are relatable and have similar thoughts.
- Motivates them to engage in some way with the information you provide.
Here are the three specific questions you need to answer to create valuable content.
- What problem do you solve?
- For whom do you solve it?
- Why are you the person to solve it for them?
Go into great detail when answering these three questions. The deeper and more detailed you get about your right clients, the more you know how to speak their language. You will understand their pain points and the story they are playing in their head around. You will see their problem and know if and how you can solve it. Most importantly, your right clients will hear your message. When learning how to attract the right clients in your God-centered business doing this work is essential to showing up authentically.
When you have identified your right client, you can see them in your mind as you create valuable content. Then you can place valuable content throughout social media postings, blogs, videos, classes, and more.
Let me know down in the comments how you have determined who you are serving whose problem you are solving?
Strategy to get the Right clients
The next step is engagement after you show up with your valuable content. Once you have potential right clients answering questions or commenting on your posts, watching your videos, coming to your classes, and downloading your lead magnets, how do you move them from a potential right client to an actual right client?
I know this title is about attracting more RIGHT clients, but you don’t know if they are the right clients unless you start talking to them. You are building genuine relationships with them online.
You must know how infrequently a potential client will see one posting, blog, or video and decide you are their person.
Show Up Consistently and Reach Out
Honestly, you’ll need to show up consistently online with the same message, reach out to individuals, and provide them with value.
You see, when you reach out to these potential right clients one on one, you are building the relationship faster than only continuing to put out your valuable content for the masses. You are now engaging in natural ways with those who are intrigued and interested in your message.
By reaching out, I mean messaging them via emails, private messages on Facebook, Direct messages on Instagram, and so on. It is my practice to reach out to at least five potential clients each day this way.
Build a Relationship
Show interest in these connections as to why you want to connect (talk about them, not you.) Thank people for liking your post, video, or blog. Ask open-ended questions about why they liked it. Start a conversation about their needs based on the content where they engaged.
***Never ask for a sale as you are only connecting to see if this person is your right client. You would be surprised how many people reach out to tell you about their “stuff.” I don’t know if this happens to you, but it happens to me on Facebook a lot. Someone will request to by my friend and proceeds to hello in a message and then tells me all about what they do and asks if I need their services or products. Seriously, I don’t even know who they are!
This aggressive sales behavior is starting to ramp up on LinkedIn. I’ll have people connect with me, for example, that have looked at my YouTube channel or the fact I am a coach and decide they need to tell me about the help they can give me. But, again, I don’t know them.
An excellent way to continue building the relationship is by sharing valuable information and things that might help them, such as sharing a book you are reading, a tip you discovered, or a resource you have.
Give them regular opportunities to see more of you
Be sure to invite these connections to things you are doing where they can see more of you, such as a Facebook or LinkedIn group you own, follow you on Instagram, watch one of your videos, or a masterclass you are giving.
I know you are thinking, “Wouldn’t that be bothering them?” NO, remember, social media is enormous, and they see many things in the course of a day. People are busy, their attention is divided, and they need to be reminded of who you are and that they have engaged with you. Having a strategy to get them from that post or video to the sales call is a process in building the relationship.
How to Attract the Right Clients – Sow the Seeds
What does your business need for success? It needs relationships with new people, potential clients, and the right clients- those who want what you have to offer. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends.” Do all the good deeds by beneficially connecting with them.
If you’re thinking, I need to do a better job finding the right clients, but first, I need to show up as my authentic self online, then take this quiz called the Client Attraction Assessment.
