It seems that doing anything in your business takes time. Whether creating social media content, writing a blog, creating a video, or doing ‘the books,’ it all takes time. Success in business takes a lot of work! And it takes dedication to what is essential to you.
I am committed to being in this space, this business because I know it is where God has brought me. Being in this space makes me an Equipper. I know I am an equipper to my ideal clients, those who want to make an impact for God through their businesses, to serve Him by serving their clients.
So, what does it mean to be an equipper? It means providing resources, furnishing new ideas, and supplying needed information.
God has equipped you uniquely for the Calling He has given you in business. Let me show you how Spiritual practices help show you your Equipping.
Practicing prayer
Spiritual practices help you gain clarity through communication. It all starts with sitting with God, the Boss, and talking with Him. This is the first of how Spiritual Practices help you – PRAYER. Sitting with God and talking with Him daily gives you clarity for your business. Learning how to communicate with Him is essential to connect your heart to His.
Knowing who God has designed you to be can help you create the best-personalized prayer practice for you. For example, are you a heart, soul, mind, or strength person? See if you can decide. . .
- Heart person – uses feelings and emotions to lead their lives and make decisions.
- Soul person – relies on intuition and creativity for decisions.
- Mind person – applies logical and intellectual processes to their life. and,
- Strength person – trusts their experiences and actions to lead and make decisions.
Heart person
Prayer activities for a Heart person might include using guided questions to journal their thoughts, rewriting scripture passages using personal pronouns to make them more directed toward themselves, or using pre-written prayers to express their feelings toward God.
Soul person
Prayer activities for a Soul person might include visualizations, focus questions to help them reflect on the day, or praying via a journal with colors, drawings, and doodles.
Mind person
Prayer activities for a Mind person might include using a journal with specific sections for prayer requests & praises, specifically guided questions, or writing prompts to explore what God wants from them.
Strength person
Prayer activities for a Strength person might include body prayers with a movement to symbolize what they are praying about. They may also use a journal with drawings & colors to pray for specific people or create unique spaces for prayer.
Remember to ‘pencil in’ this appointment with God into your daily agenda . . . come to this appointment with enthusiasm and excitement about what you are going to learn about God and how your relationship with Him will grow. You will start understanding your equipping by asking the Source who created you.
Read and study the Bible
Getting to know God better is the following way to be equipped. This comes through the second how Spiritual Practices help you – BIBLE Reading and Study. It doesn’t matter what you read in the Bible. It just matters that you do it. God reveals Himself in the pages of His love letter to His people. You are His, and He wants you to know Him better.
We can only stay aligned with God and know what He wants from us if we are continually in His presence. By keeping a journal in chronological order, can you see what He reveals to you. By studying His Word, you will be transformed by Him into the image of His Son, Jesus. That’s what He wants for you.
Give God the best part of your day
Have a daily plan for both prayer and Bible study. First, give God the best part of your day. That is first thing in the morning when it is barely light. Have a hot cup of coffee, study materials, and a journal.
These two practices alone are the foundation for being equipped to do the work God has called you to do. His purposes for your life will become clear as you spend time learning about Him and listening to Him.
How Spiritual practices help you worship
WORSHIP is the next Spiritual Practice necessary so you know God’s equipping for business. Some synonyms for worship are adoration, love, reverence, respect, devotion, admiration, and veneration (respect, reverence, adore). Are any of your thoughts on these words? When I think of worship, I think of all these words.
Worship is thinking only about God
First, worship IS thinking only about God because you adore, love, revere, respect, admire, and regard Him. You are directing your attention toward Him. So, where do you think our ‘singing’ only worship fits in? Singing a worship song can be very moving if you are not distracted and like music.
But you can also worship God when you set time apart to enjoy His creation, write words of gratitude, or even do the daily tasks in your business. It becomes true worship when your mind is filled with honoring Him.
Worship is NOT about you – it’s about God.
Worship is to express in some appropriate manner a humbling but delightful sense of admiring awe and astonished wonder and overpowering love in the presence of . . . our Father . . .

Whoa! When was the last time you felt that sentiment?
Serving others
When your business becomes a reflection of God’s glory, you are truly serving Him by serving others. This is the fourth Spiritual Practice. Serving through your business can be as simple as listening to a co-worker or team member over coffee. On the other hand, it can be as big as forgiving a customer’s debt. The practice of serving means putting into action the principles God is teaching you during your set-apart time with Him.
Do you think serving God is only for when you are at church? Is volunteering on Sunday mornings, going to outreach projects, and bringing in Christmas boxes the only thing that serves God? As an entrepreneur and business owner, you have opportunities ALL THE TIME to Serve others.
It begins by praying for your clients, customers, team members, and the others you encounter through your business. You also serve when you attend meetings, masterminds, networking, and other activities, being the ‘most helpful person in the room.’ Service is giving of yourself, solving your ideal client’s problems, and sharing your time, energy, and talents to shine for God in the marketplace.
Committing to your equipping
Only by incorporating Spiritual Practices into your life can you begin to understand how God equipped you to do what he has called you to do. God wants the BEST for you. His best is that you know Him better and depend on Him more.
How committed are you to the business God has called you into? How will you continue to grow in Him as you grow your business? Get equipped to do your best by understanding HOW He has equipped you.
As THE Equipper, I provide resources to move you along this path with God. The Calling Clarity Course is one of those resources. Find out more about what the Calling Clarity Course can do for you by clicking HERE.
How do Spiritual practices help you be equipped to serve God through your business? Which resources, ideas, information, and solutions is He trusting you to give to the world? What is that unique way you show up in the marketplace to bring Him glory?

“How are you equipped to serve God through your business? Which resources, ideas and information is He trusting you to give to the world? What is that unique way you are showing up in the Marketplace that brings Him glory?”
These questions are thought provoking for me. I know how I served Him in vocational ministry… now I’m curious as to “how to” do this in a dynamic and creative way through business.
I spend time every morning with Him as well. Without that intimacy it would be like leaving my house with only my skivvies on! Not good! Lol
