Have you ever had a season when your faith felt… flat?
You’re praying, reading Scripture, and doing all the “right” things—yet it doesn’t feel like you’re growing.
If that’s you, you’re not alone.
So many women equate spiritual growth with how they feel—feeling inspired, connected, or on fire for God. But true growth isn’t always emotional.
Spiritual growth is often quiet, subtle, and steady.
It shows up not in the highs of emotion, but in the daily choices you make—how you respond under pressure, how you make decisions, how you love others, and how you live your values even when no one is watching.
Let’s talk about four signs you’re growing spiritually—even if you don’t feel it. And, help you recognize the subtle but powerful ways God is already at work in you—and know how to keep growing with intention and peace.

1. You’re making decisions aligned with God’s truth.
Spiritual maturity often shows up in your choices, not your feelings.
It’s in those quiet moments when you pause before reacting, take a deep breath, and ask, “Lord, what would please You here?”
You begin to notice small but significant shifts:
- Instead of rushing to say “yes” to every opportunity, you stop to pray and ask if it truly aligns with your God-given priorities.
- You no longer make decisions based on what’s easiest or most popular, but on what’s right and righteous.
- When conflict arises, you don’t jump to defend yourself—you listen first, seek peace, and let grace lead your response.
- Even in your business, you weigh choices not just by profit margins, but by purpose and integrity.
You may not feel more spiritual in those moments—but you are walking in wisdom over impulse, and that’s what real growth looks like.
This is what it means to let God renew your mind, just as Paul writes in Romans 12:2:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Every time you slow down to seek God’s perspective, you are letting His truth reshape your thinking and guide your path.
Outward Fruit in Leadership:
- When you lead from discernment instead of emotion, people around you notice.
Your team feels your steadiness in stressful moments. Your clients trust your integrity. Your family sees your peace. - That calm, grounded presence isn’t something you manufacture—it’s the byproduct of inviting God into your decisions.
And while the world measures leadership by results, God measures it by righteous responses—and those always begin in the heart.

2. You’re responding to challenges with more grace and less striving
Another powerful sign of spiritual growth is how you respond when things don’t go your way.
Before, you might have gone straight into fix-it mode—trying to control outcomes, push harder, or worry your way to a solution. Now, you notice yourself slowing down. You pray first. You ask for wisdom before acting. You remind yourself that God’s got this, even when you can’t see the path forward.
That shift from striving to surrender is evidence of God’s work in you. It’s no longer about your ability to manage every detail—it’s about trusting His ability to redeem every detail.
You might see this growth in small but telling moments:
- When a client cancels or a project falls through, and instead of spiraling, you say, “Lord, I trust You have a better plan.”
- When you face unexpected criticism, and you choose humility over defensiveness.
- When your plans get delayed, and you use the waiting time to listen for God’s direction rather than forcing progress.
These are not surface-level wins—they are deep spiritual muscles being strengthened through real-life resistance.
This is the kind of peace Philippians 4:7 describes:
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
That peace doesn’t mean everything is easy—it means your inner world stays steady even when your outer world feels uncertain.
Outward Fruit in Leadership:
- Grace under pressure is one of the clearest signs of a spiritually mature leader.
It’s what makes others feel safe around you. Your calm presence gives your team confidence. Your patience invites collaboration. Your trust in God’s timing gives others permission to rest instead of rush. - You’re not leading from panic or pride anymore—you’re leading from peace.
And that kind of leadership can’t be faked; it flows from a heart that’s learning to rest in God’s sovereignty.

3. Your values are becoming visible in your daily habits
One of the clearest signs that your faith is maturing is when what you believe begins to shape how you behave—even in the smallest, most ordinary moments.
You’re not just reading about godly character—you’re living it out.
Your choices, routines, and priorities begin to align with what matters most to God.
Maybe you’ve noticed it in subtle ways:
- You pause before posting something online and ask, “Does this reflect Christ’s heart?”
- You refuse to cut corners on a project, even if no one would know.
- You choose honesty in a tough conversation rather than comfort or convenience.
- You intentionally make time for prayer or reflection before starting your workday, not because you “have to,” but because you want to invite God into your day.
This is the fruit of integrity—the moment when your faith stops being a category of your life and becomes the compass for your life.
You’re no longer compartmentalizing your faith; it’s flowing into everything you do—how you lead, serve, create, and communicate.
That’s the transformation Galatians 5:22–23 describes:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
These qualities aren’t goals to achieve—they’re fruit that naturally grow when your roots are deep in God.
Every time you choose truth over convenience, kindness over criticism, or grace over gossip, you’re living from that Spirit-led place.
Outward Fruit in Leadership:
- When your values become visible, trust grows.
Your team, clients, and colleagues begin to see your consistency—and consistency creates credibility.
You don’t have to announce your faith; people can see it in how you make decisions, handle setbacks, and treat others. - That quiet integrity becomes your testimony.
It tells the world: This is a woman who walks her talk. - In a culture that often rewards performance over principle, your steady, Spirit-led integrity shines like light in the workplace.
And that light invites others to wonder about the Source behind it.

4. You’re less focused on doing for God and more focused on being with God
For many of us, the Christian life starts with doing.
We want to serve, help, lead, and give—all good things.
But somewhere along the way, our serving can quietly become striving. We start measuring our spiritual health by how much we’re doing for God instead of how deeply we’re connected to Him.
As you grow spiritually, that begins to shift.
You start realizing that God isn’t asking for more activity—He’s inviting you into deeper intimacy.
You might notice this growth in moments like:
- You stop feeling guilty for slowing down to rest or pray.
- You give yourself permission to simply sit with Scripture, not study it for answers.
- You stop trying to impress God with your checklist and begin to enjoy His presence in your everyday life—while walking, working, or washing dishes.
- You begin to sense His voice more clearly, not because you’re striving to hear it, but because you’ve quieted the noise around you.
This is what Jesus meant in John 15:4:
“Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.”
When your focus shifts from doing to dwelling, something beautiful happens—you begin to live from overflow instead of obligation.
Your work, relationships, and service no longer drain you; they become extensions of your time with Him.

Outward Fruit in Leadership:
- This kind of abiding changes the atmosphere around you.
You start leading with peace instead of pressure, with joy instead of exhaustion.
You inspire your team not because you’re pushing harder, but because your presence carries God’s calm confidence. - When others see that your strength comes from stillness, it gives them permission to slow down too.
You become a leader who not only gets things done but does them God’s way—with grace, wisdom, and rest at the center.
And that’s when your faith truly begins to fuel your work, not compete with it.
You’re Growing—Even If You Don’t Feel It
Spiritual growth isn’t a straight line, and it rarely feels dramatic.
It’s found in those quiet, consistent moments when you choose faith over fear, grace over control, and presence over performance.
If you’re making decisions more aligned with God’s truth…
If you’re responding to challenges with greater peace…
If your values are shaping your daily habits…
And if you’re learning to rest in being with God more than doing for Him—
then you are growing, friend.
Even when you don’t see it, God is at work—shaping your heart, refining your mindset, and strengthening your spirit from the inside out.
